Executive Director
Victoria Avramovic serves as the NC Innovation Council's first leader. Victoria is based in Charlotte but serves the entire State. Avramovic has played a key role in economic development, connecting the public and private sectors to drive growth. She has helped stakeholders navigate policies, funding, and best practices to support affordable housing, implement industry-specific workforce training programs, and secure federal funding for infrastructure and entrepreneurial support initiatives.
The Executive Director of the North Carolina Innovation Council serves at the discretion of the Council and plays a pivotal role in executing its mission. Key responsibilities of the Executive Director include:
- Encouraging Participation: Actively promoting the regulatory sandbox to attract innovators, investors, and organizations interested in developing new products, services, or technologies within a controlled regulatory environment.
- Staffing and Administration: Overseeing the staffing needs and administrative functions necessary to support the Council's operations and ensure effective management of the sandbox program.
- Implementation of Council Decisions: Executing the decisions and orders issued by the Innovation Council to ensure that its policies and objectives are met consistently and effectively.
- Additional Assigned Duties: Performing other tasks as assigned by the Council to adapt to evolving needs and support its objectives.
Through these responsibilities, the Executive Director ensures that the Council’s goals are actively pursued, from encouraging participation to implementing strategic decisions in line with North Carolina's commitment to innovation and economic growth.
